Information only

Chronicle publishes general educational articles about history. We work hard to be accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every article is complete or free of errors, and historical knowledge changes as new research appears. Please check important facts against the sources listed in each article.

Using our articles

The text of Chronicle articles is our copyright. You are welcome to quote short passages with a clear credit and a link to the original article; each article includes a ready-made citation. Please do not republish whole articles without our written permission.

Images

Images are not owned by Chronicle. They are loaded from Wikimedia Commons and remain subject to their own licences, which are named and linked under each image. If you reuse an image, follow its licence.

Chronicle contains links to other websites and shows advertising from third parties. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those websites or advertisers.
